My name is Matt Hughs and I own and operate Texoma Tightlines. My goal is to provide you with a fishing trip that will leave you with great memories for years to come. I fish year round for striped bass only on Lake Texoma. All charters will be my only trip of the day. All groups are welcome. I have done trips for families with children all the way to corporate trips. I enjoy watching all people catch fish, but I specialize in family trips and especially with children. My boat is always operated in a Christian and family friendly atmosphere. I am a fully licensed guide on Lake Texoma and am CPR and medically trained as well. I also have my father-in-law on board as my deck hand to assist my efforts to get you on the fish and ensure your comfort during the trip.We will fish out of a 20ft Falcon Striper King fishing boat. The boat is very safe even in less than ideal weather conditions. On board I have a VHF radio with a weather emergency channel and up to date electronics. Most fishing trips will be done using live bait (shad), but lures also are used frequently. Topwater, slabs, and soft plastics are used at varying times of the year. Instruction will be available if needed. Bait will be caught before you arrive so you are only paying for fishing time. All tackle is ready to fish. 4 people can fish comfortably, and groups larger than 4 can be fished with multiple boats. Just give me as much notice as possible so I can arrange your trip with the other guides needed for your party. What you need to bring:1) Lake Texoma fishing license $12 (Wal-Mart and others sell them) 2) Snacks/Drinks 3) Your camera 4) Rain gear - if needed 5) Small cooler to take fillets home I have a large snack/drink ice chest on the boat, so you can bring your food to the boat in a bag. Also, make sure you put on plenty of sunscreen before you arrive even if it is in the cooler months. We will fish 6 hours and if everyone's limit is reached before that we will catch and release for the remainder. All fish will be cleaned and bagged with ALL of the red meat removed. The fillets will be best if eaten the evening after the trip. Striper can be prepared a number of ways but most often deep fried or grilled. Lake Texoma is a beautiful lake and is known as the striper capitol of the world. It is 1 of only 8 lakes in the U.S. where stripers naturally spawn and are not stocked. Texoma is a large lake of 89,000 square acres and is the 12th largest in the U.S. It truly is a unique and fantastic fishery with stripers being the predominant species. I believe striper fishing to be the most exciting fishing experience in the area. The strong fight and aggressive nature of stripers make them a favorite among many anglers. Many people are hooked after seeing an acre or two of water churning with a school of surfacing stripers that inhale or knock their topwater lure several feet in the air. They can be voracious feeders and strikes are frequently violent. It is not uncommon to have 2-3 fish on at once. I believe you will share my enthusiasm and enjoyment of striper fishing after trying it yourself, and I would be privileged to have the opportunity to take you. If you don't catch fish, your next trip is free! |
